Dan Walsh (UK) Jan 27th 2018 7PM

Nominated for best musician at 2016’s BBC Folk Awards, Dan Walsh combines ‘virtuoso playing and winning songwriting’ (Morning Star).

Describing what Dan does is no easy task, but at the heart of it is British, Irish and American folk music delivered with a healthy dose of funky grooves – all performed with his unique and dazzling take on clawhammer style banjo helping to challenge all preconceptions about the instrument.

Add to all that poignant songs, astonishing musical departures and lively humour and the result is a truly memorable live show which has wowed audiences across the world from intimate seated rooms to huge dancing crowds in festival fields.

“Incredibly gifted – if anyone has the opportunity to see him they must.” Janice Long, BBC Radio 2

“Breathtaking and wonderful.” Acoustic Magazine

“No genre out of his reach, incredible talent.” Bright Young Folk

Support: Dawn Barrington

Dawn is an inspirational singer/songwriter living in Denmark, Western Australia. She is a traditional storyteller at heart and her catchy choruses and rich lyrical content make for an engaging performance. The spirit in which she sings her songs has likened her to artists such as Joan Baez, Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell and more contemporary artists such as Suzanne Vega. Her sound is authentic with her most recent album “When did it Change?” being reviewed as a ‘modern interpretation of a bygone era’.

Dawn released her latest album at the 2017 Denmark Festival of Voice, a year after releasing her album “Break of the Day” at the Nannup Music Festival 2016.
